More Than a Flight: A Mission to Save Two Lives

When we received the call, we knew it was a mission of the highest complexity.

Conjoined twins Eliza Vitória and Yasmin Vitória, born in Manaus/Amazonia and diagnosed as thoraco-omphalopagus twins (joined at the chest and abdomen, sharing the liver), needed to be safely transported to Goiânia/Goiás for a delicate separation surgery.

The challenge was significant: a distance of over 2,000 km (1,240 miles), a sensitive medical condition, and the need for a rapid, stable transfer.

For this mission, we deployed an air ambulance fully equipped to provide continuous monitoring and intensive care throughout the flight. On board, our specialized medical team operated with dedicated equipment and strict protocols to ensure the twins arrived in optimal condition for their surgery.

Every minute, a step toward hope

From Manaus to Goiânia, every decision was made with precision and the patients’ well-being at the forefront.

Inside the aircraft, our team maintained constant monitoring and vital support tailored to the twins’ specific needs. From take-off to landing, the mission was coordinated with health authorities and the surgical team, ensuring the girls were delivered to the operating room within the planned time frame and medical conditions.

More than transport: a commitment to life

The transfer was a success, and the surgery was carried out as planned—marking a new chapter in Eliza and Yasmin’s story.

For us, this mission was more than a completed transport: it was proof of our purpose—to offer far more than logistics, to deliver care, safety, and trust.

At Brasil Vida, every flight carries more than patients—it carries stories, medical challenges, and the determination to connect lives.

Follow our missions and help share stories that inspire and celebrate the strength of life.
